Ray Stark is Senior Vice President for Government & Community Relations and Events for the Boise Metro Chamber. In this capacity, Ray oversees the Chamber’s comprehensive program of advocacy of business issues with local, state and federal governments, including transportation, education and tax policy. Ray also oversees the Chamber’s significant conferences and events for business and community leaders. Previous to his position with the chamber, Ray served twelve years on the staff of the Idaho State Legislature as a financial analyst, with budgetary emphasis on higher education, health & welfare, prisons and the state’s building program. Among community activities, Ray is past-chairman of the Boise Philharmonic Association and serves on advisory boards for Boise State University, the University of Idaho and Bishop Kelly High School. In 2017 Governor Butch Otter appointed Ray to serve on the state’s Higher Education Task Force. Ray graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Idaho with undergraduate degrees in Political Science and History and a master’s degree in Public Administration (MPA).
