Keynote Speaker:  Vice Admiral Dennis McGinn, USN (Ret.)

Admiral Dennis McGinn, a former test pilot and real American hero, served as Assistant Secretary of the Navy for Energy, Installations and Environment from September, 2013 until January, 2017.  In this role, he led the transformation of naval installations toward greater mission resiliency though energy efficiency, renewable energy, microgrids, and other technologies. His experience there is particularly applicable to the energy transitions now occuring in the West.

U.S. Congressman Mike Simpson, ranking member House Appropriations Subcommittee on Water and Energy

Michael (Mike) K. Simpson is serving his eleventh term in the House of Representatives for Idaho’s Second Congressional District.

Mike serves on the House Appropriations Committee. He is the Ranking Member for the Subcommittee on Energy and Water Development. He also serves on the Interior and Environment Subcommittee. These committees have jurisdiction over funding for a number of programs critical to Idaho, including the Department of Energy, the Department of the Interior, the Forest Service, our National Parks, the National Endowment for the Arts, and Smithsonian Institute.
